As many landlord are aware the Government brought in legislation to protect tenants from eviction introduced by the Coronavirus Act 2020.
From the 1 October 2021, the notice periods for possession returned to their pre- pandemic levels. This means that for Section 8 the notice period is from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on the grounds which are being relied on and section 21 the minimum notice must be 2 months.
However, the Government has made it clear that it if needs be they can re-introduce the previous longer notice periods should the need arise if the public health condition gets worse again and can do this up until 25 March 2022.
